Is anyone familiar with what happens if you are mistakenly recorded absent from an annual exam?

Im not even sure how you would manage that?

I can only assume they lost my script... Oh I know, I have the right people looking into it, just wanted to see if anyone else knew about it while I wait to hear back!

Even if they lose your script your marked in attendance on the exam log (hence the examiner coming around at the start of the exam), so its bizzare how two checks would fail

It seems extremely unlikely that it´s the invigilators´fault. Losing a script is very difficult, given the checks that happen when they are collected. Being marked absent accidentally also seems improbable. Did you arrive late? Is there something more to this?

Is it possible that the person above or below you on the list was absent, and there was a clerical error somewhere along the line? Have never heard of anything like this happening before...

If it is a clerical error, it should be easy enough to rectify. Good luck!

No I wasn't late, I left forty minutes before the end though. I don't think I made any mistakes on the booklet, but what would you have to do for something like this to happen? Seat number, exam number and student number all wrong?

I'm quite confused about it, anxious to hear back about it soon.

It could have been put into the wrong pile after you left early. Or, as languagenerd said, it might have been a clerical error with the roll list.

Even if it got thrown away accidentally, it will end up in the exam rubbish bag.

There will be a paper a trail so don´t worry. In almost all cases the script turns up.

My tutor told me that they have found my script and are amending the result asap, I guess it went astray somewhere along the line, thanks for replies!
