Hi so here is the story, about 6 months ago I was getting a filling on the medical card in a well known dentist. I asked the dentist was there anyway to get a white filling by paying extra, she said no so I agreed to the silver filling.

Before she done the filling I heard her ask her dental assistant to mix them and the assistant asked if she was sure.

The tooth is very sensitive with hot and cold and some of the filling has wore away so it is like a cavity again.

The tooth with the filling is the only sensitive tooth in my mouth and was sore since the injection wore off, it also felt as if she drilled to far into the cavity and hit a nerve as i felt a pain when she was drilling (While Numb)

I have googled and cannot find anything relating to a dentist mixing white and silver filling together.

The filling is grey in color, has anyone got any advice for me?

    Thanks

I think that you misunderstood, no one would mix an amalgam and composite filling together. The dentist may have asked to mix the amalgam filling capsule....

most likely cause it was high in the bite causing your sensitivity. Amalgam filling wear down under pressure. Return to the dentist if in any doubt.

Best advice is stay away from Dr. Google and see the real thing - your dentist. They should be able to fix this problem.
