Trying to help a friend with a self built PC that has developed some issues.

Clean install of win7x64 after someone else diagnosed the bsod's and errors as a failing hdd.

Motherboard is Asus p8h61-m le usb 3

    RAM is Corsair value select 4GB 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 x2

Memtest is showing a lot of errors with both sticks.

Memtest shows no errors after two passes with either stick in either slot.

Intel processor diagnostic utility says the memory controller is good on the i5 2400.

I don't have access to a multimeter or equivalent ram or mobo to swap out.

Any ideas? Any way to get a diagnosis given the circumstances?

    Thanks in advance!

As in individually there are no errors?

What about if you don't run them in dual channel?

Edit: Actually, is that a low end board with only two slots? You don't have much choice then. Have you got any options to lower the speed of them a little to see if that makes a difference?

Edit 2: What PSU do you have?

Yeah low end board and it's on a Corsair GS700 so should be loads of power on a fairly reliable psu I'd imagine.

I actually got one of the sticks to fail on stock speed and timings eventually. Couldn't get them to work together and wasn't able to get one to fail! I was stumped.

It looks perfectly stable at the moment with one stick tested with prime95 and memtest for a good few hours, so he's going to work away with that until he's able to return/RMA or buy a nicer set.

    Thanks
