Got a 1988 same 100 that run low on diesel and now is missing a bit,
It will start up fine but then runs very uneven and will cut out, will drive too and then cut,
Think it may have got dirty diesel from the bottom of tank but not sure.

Change the fuel filters, it's not getting diesel - the tank crud has blocked them. Running out of diesel is never a good idea- more hassle than it's worth.

just one filter on this one, some guy mentioned about blowing the pipe back but changing the filter will sort it, won't it

I'd blow the pipes- the crud will have captioned the gauze on the end of the fuel pick-up pipe - open the pipe heading into the main filter and give it a blast back to the tank - there's guaranteed to be resistance followed by fuel flowishness. Neither of which are proper words, but I'm tired and stuff gets typed. Basically, you want a good stream of diesel at every point you can open the system - starting closest to the tank. If it's dribbley, go back and blow harder.

thanks i changed the fuel filter and there was also a tiny filter in at the priming pump which was dirty which i cleaned out too.
Strange but the tractor started up right away and i did not have to bleed it..... its was uneven for about 10 minutes but seems ok now
