Fertiliser spreader on its last legs here (or to be more exact its lost its last legs!!!), New spreaders are not cheap these days, know a garage selling a 10 year old rauch at ok money, seems like it was well looked after, any thoughts on is it worth chancing a 10 year old rauch as they do have a good name?

I have one, probably at least 15 years of age. Twin disk, hyd shut off. Check for visual rust, as you would expect. Check shut off closes fully, and that both openings open the same amount, try this at a variety of positions. Check bearings in gearbox are OK, is there "up and down" play in the disks? Are the vanes on the disks worn? new set of 4 vanes approx €130
    Very happy with mine.
Kuhn and Rauch are the same spreader.

Rauch would be very much at the top end of spreaders.

We bought one new back in 1995. Incredibly high quality steel that doesn't seem to rust readily. I did a bearing in the gearbox maybe 10 years ago, other than that it has cost nothing.
