Whilst a decent looking tv I'm wondering if it will pick-up the saorview and/or FTA stations?

If it doesn't pick up either what extra hardware does she need to buy? Can it be bought in Dublin (sorry, clueless re this stuff)

That tv is on the Saorview approved list, so no problems on that front.

It won't get FTA satellite channels without a separate satellite receiver. It will work with the standard definition channels on the UK Freeview terrestrial service but, in the Dublin area I would only bother with that if you already have an aerial system in place for reception of UK terrestrial from Wales or NI.
