What constitutes a New Release or Back-Catalogue movie?

Movie rental in question - Bridesmaids...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridesmaids_%282011_film%29

Went into an Xtra-Vision last weekend expecting to pay €2 per night for the rental of the above DVD but was told it was €5.

When I checked the website when I got home it said 'New release - €5, Back Catalogue - €2).

Basically, when does a New-Release become 'back catalogue'?

when they decide they dont want to charge you an extra 3 quid to rent it. also, you dodged a bullet there

I doubt there's any set date. They just decide when the rentals of it go down that they'll lower the price.

But you should definitely go and have a big argument with the staff about it. I'll sit and wait on the Cries of Retail thread in Ranting and Raving for the response from the other side of the counter. :)

I have no intentions of having a big argument about it. I accepted it was €5, paid and left. I was just simply wondering when a new-release was not considered a new-release anymore.

I like my version better. ;)

I can 100% confirm that bridesmaid is a €2 movie. If I was you I would complain to the head office
