Im just finished a FETAC class 3 marine engineering course in a college in donegal and am now looking for work experience, the thing is all of the people up there are either related to or good friends with someone that can help them out.

Im from the midlands so im not in such a position, i have already trawled websites but there isnt much in way of a site with that kind of thing, would anyone have any other ideas as to how to go about getting work?

Im finished in july and would love to have something ready.

    any help much appreciated.

What kind of marine work are you looking for? Is it like working on ships and boats? Is there any rivers, lakes or canals near you?
Try get in touch with any port authorities near you, but I imagine large ports wouldnt be willing to take you off.

Marina authorities might be an idea, or even a town coucil that deals with stuff like that.

The Maritime forum might guide you in the right direction http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1539
