Primer recommendations

    Hi ladies!

Looking for foundation primer recommendations. I have very fair dry/combi skin, with quite a lot of redness and I'm prone to small very dry patches, particularly on my cheeks. My foundation is EL Double Wear and I wear it every day.

Ideally, less than €20 - but would spend more if it came highly recommended.

    Thanks!

    1. Smashbox photo finish primer.
Love love love it but am too poor lately to buy it.
    2. Gosh primer - a great budget primer
    3. Benefit - The porefessional. Hated this when i got it first but must say its growing on me.

I've heard very mixed reviews about the Benefit one, but all positive as regards the Smashbox and Gosh ones - thanks a million for the rec!

Revlon's photoready is good and it does leave a cast on your skin that tones down redness a little!

At the moment I'm loving No7's primer which is great on my dry skin, helps with pores and overall is very decent although high on price and stingey on size!

Another vote for Smashbox Photofinish Primer. Works brilliantly especially if you have oily skin. It's dear but you only need a small amount to do your whole face so it lasts a long time.

Cool to hear such good things about a product. Like I said, I'd be happy to pay a chunk for something that was highly recommended! Debenhams do Smashbox, don't they?

I think the Loreal is one is way better than the Smashbox one! And cheaper. Still expensive enough, though..

I think Debenhams have discontinued Smashbox but some of the larger Boots stock it. Liffey Valley for example definitely has it if you're in Dublin.

I'm using Catrice's Prime and Fine at the moment and I love it! Similar to the Loreal Studio Secrets one but much cheaper :)

Loreal Studio Secrets or the No.7 one get my vote - both very good.

Another vote for Catrice Prime and Fine! Love the texture and the not so perfumy smell well worth the price.

Well I reckon I'll chance the Catrice one first, thanks ladies. Can't be too annoyed if it doesn't quite suit at that price!
