    Anyone ever use Solid Edge?

Matt Lombard, the guy who wrote an awful lot of very good Solidworks books, has moved from Solidworks to Solid Edge.

On his blog, http://www.dezignstuff.com/blog/, he's been critical of Solidworks for a while now and the direction they're taking.

So how does Solid Edge hold up in comparison does anyone know?

I used it a bit in college but only because the college had it on licence. The lecturer was very critical of it for doing the same thing as Solidworks but being alot more difficult to do stuff with. Its the same as anything really......once you get used to it its good. My preference would be Solidworks though.

They both use the same geometric modelling kernel underneath (paradolid) so it's really just down to the GUI and how it implements various features/functions.
