We are driving within Ireland on holidays this year but will be stuck for space in the car, just wondering if you are allowed to leave the rear child seat on your bike while it is attached to the roof of the car ?
Just to say the child will be strapped safety into her carseat in the car biggrin.gif

There's no "child seat on bike on roof" law, so off you go..
There is a law requiring a load to be secure, so if you follow that one you'll be ok.

I'd imagine it would be very unaerodynamic (if that's a word?) at speed and may cause some instability (and increased fuel consumption). I doubt if it's illegal.

I'd say it would be only illegal if the child was still in the seat.
