In the books the Blackfish did not attend the wedding, he remained at Riverrun, Edmure's castle.

In the show he left the hall before the massacre took place and escaped the Twins.

He's still alive so expect more from him in the next season

thanks for the information. frey said in the last episode, the blackfish is an old man with no army, i have tywin supporting me, who does he have? lol. the blackfish is described as a great warrior so it will be interesting to see what happens to him in season 4. does he seek revenge in the books?

After the Red Wedding the Blackfish is beseiged at Riverrun by the Lannisters and the Freys. Not mentioned in the TV show but Tywin's sister is actually married to a Frey.

Recall that the Freys have Edmure prisoner. Everyday they threathen to hang him unless the Blackfish surrenders.

Eventually he escapes and even to book readers his whereabouts and plans are unknown

    ADWD spoiler:
There's some semi-crackpot theories that he's the "ghost in Winterfell" from Theon's chapters who's killing people in Winterfell. Of all the possibilities of who it is, he's my current preference.

Always thought that was Mance or his girls myself. Interesting though.

Me too, never even realised there was theories on it since it seemed so obvious.

I'm pretty sure they said it wasn't all them. I think they owned up to some killings but denied others? Also there was the hooded man. I can't quite remember but there could've been a scene where Mance is in the hall playing music and Theon then bumps into the "Hooded Man".
There's also theories it could be Robett Glover (possibly in league with Lady Dustin), Davos (although killing randomers doesn't seem like his type), Benjen and maybe even someone sent by Lady Stoneheart from the south.

I really need to read the books again, and it's only been a year since I read them!

Had a gander at some of the threads on http://asoiaf.westeros.org/ and apparently BF escaping Riverrun happens too late for him to get to Winterfell and start killin 'erbody.

I always thought the Ghost at Winterfell was Theon himself. It's mentioned during these chapters how he has free-reign to roam the grounds of Winterfell and we definitely begin to see Theon emerging from the Reek personality at the end of the book. I presumed there was a psychological break where he was suffering from multiple personalities: i.e. "Theon" was the Ghost whilst "Reek" knew nothing of the other half of his personality's actions.

The only thing I'd say about it is that Theon is broken and weak. Not sure he would have it in him to go a-murdering.

None of the deaths I can remember would have involved much in the way of strength once surprise was involved and because his captors utterly disregard him at this point, a careful trip or sneaky shove would have sufficed for most of them iirc

It's Jamie who gets him to surrender Riverrun and Jamie is really proud of himself as he got to keep his promise to Catelyn not to take up a sword against any of her family.
