French ATC are on strike, pretty much all traffic in and out of France is cancelled and there'll be delays to flights that would ordinarily transit French airspace.

Some relatives are flying out of Cork today to Palma, afaik routing is usually over France, does anyone know the route their flight will take today.
Also 3 flights at Cork heading to Lourdes, they are delayed but will be left in.....The Lord works in mysterious ways.;)

Take that striking French ATCs! :pac:

I actually don't know, it would depend on the flight I guess. There would be delays.

That TAP eventually got turned East at Brest and flew over Paris for Geneva.

I doubt you're sitting on the runway.

I expect that flights to Spain will transit down the Bay of Biscay before turning East over Spanish airspace. Italian bound may go over Germany.

The problem here will be increased congestion in surrounding ATC zones so delays all over.

    Hi,

A lot of the aircraft that would usually go from Irish airspace (Or UK airspace) into French airspace will use the Tango 9 from LASNO or Tango 213 from TAMEL. These points are directly south of Cork, and are usually used by aircraft going to Lanzarote, Portugal, the Caribbean ect.

Aircraft departing from the UK may well enter Irish airspace via GAPLI, then head south over LASNO and TAMEL.

That's the recorded track, not a filed plan...

Is there any truth in RTE's claim that this strike has spread to other countries ? Are we looking at an indeterminate period of shutdowns across Europe, or is this still isolated to France in terms of those on strike ?

How long is this strike expected to continue for? I'm away to Paris next Friday for the PAS and I really don't want to miss it due to them ATC refusing to work with EU.

Ryanairs website, updated at 8am this morning, claims it will finish today. But reports of it spreading to other countries would seem to put a new dimension on it.
