    Hi guys/girls,

I've got a Volvo S40 2001 DCi and I want to replace the radio thats in it back to the original HU-605 radio. I have noticed though that radio antenna does not plug in anywhere into the original radio
Does anyone know how the radio originally connected to the antenna?
    Thanks a lot :)

    Kevin

Make sure you've removed any adaptors from the loom, like this
    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/VOLVO-AERIAL-ADAPTOR-MODELS-S40-V40-S80-V70-ETC-/140731886038?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item20c44629d6

The Volvo radio uses the male grey 2-pin connector from the car.
It should be visible on the bottom left on the back of the radio.

Cheers for that :) what a stupid system.. couldnt for the life of me figure out where the antenna plug went.
The previous owner must have removed it as the only loom I have for it are for the speakers and then there is the antenna cable.. Looks like another trip to the motor factors for me :D

    no worries.

I think the fit-ment is a non standard volvo only deal,
so i'm not sure if a motor factors can help.

    good luck with it anyway

Nope you are right, they would have to order it. So went on the bay and found one for 10e - ordered, done and dusted :)
Just have to now find out why the radio wont play recorded cds :D

    Glad your're making progress :)

Regarding the recorded/burnt CDs, I dont think any Volvo hu of that era will play them.

I've just made do with one of these

There are DIN adaptors that can play and charge iPods but I havent explored them yet.
