Will be interesting to see the differences between this and last years one.

Have not picked mine yet, it's hard! Picked The Hound last year but seriously tempted by Jaime this year

For me Tywin Lannister - every single scene he is in, he is awesome.
    Ayra Stark a close 2nd.

Although Jaime was very good this year

    Jaime, then Arya.

Tyrion for me this year. I found every scene he was involved in to be funny..

The stuff he comes out with is A1 and I think a lot more people are growing to like him the way he is treating sansa after the wedding.

This is a tough one. Tyrion and Arya have been great throughout the 3 seasons. Davos and The Hound really came into their own in S3. However every single scene with Tywin in it is gripping, so I'm going to go with him.

I voted for the wrong person.. :pac:

Damn stupid silly names that I can never remember

Tyrion,Bronn,Varys and Hodor in that order, how could you leave Hodor off the list OP.

    Varys.

Lol, i figured i'd get the "how did you leave X off the list OP" accusations.... Not for Hodor though!

I picked Jon Snow, for the tragic romance with Ygritte (fine bird).
Really enjoyed Arya's interactions with Tywin and the Hound also.
Bronn, Tyrion and Pod's scenes were good also.
Didn't enjoy the rest of the Stark's storylines, Theon Greyjoys either.
Just when I think it's impossible somehow Joffrey manages to become more and more detestible.
It's all a bit too easy for Dany this season.

    Roll on season 4.

Jaime for me is the character that undergoes the most drastic development as a character. Just comparing him to season one he is a shadow of that arrogant, dashing, carefree knight.

He his now broken, baptised in horsepíss, mud and torture to become the humbled wiser and nobler man he his now. But there was always part of him that was like this all along and all we saw in Season 1&2 was a mask, a defence mechanism to being called Kingslayer. He saved the people of King's Landing while he father sacked it and that nobility and honesty was pulled out of him by Brienne, whom he risked all again to save.

I found this excellent character progression.

Second would be Joffery, no progression there, just a sick sadistic monster!

This poll has a distinct lack of Podrick and Hodor.

    Oh and Boy/
    Ramsey Snow
for that matter. I would say Arya but I have so many to choose from I just can't vote for one.

Tywin is the main man this season. Dance just chews up every scene he is in with relish.

Sandor Clegane, the few scenes/chapters he's in are always good. Hodor as well, what a guy.

Love Tywin, but for pure awesomeness it has to be Stannis the Mannis.

Too hard to chose just one, I chose Arya since she has been my favorite since the start, but Tyrion, Tywin, Sandor and Jaime have all been great this season!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,400 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Hard to choose one...Jon and Tyrion had been constant favourites from the first series, Ned too. But this season a lot of new characters were introduced or took a more central role such as the Hound, and Thoros.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

Arya since season 1 but Tywin is a phenomenal character, Charles Dance just knocks every scene he's in out of the park between his banter with Arya and how he starts respecting a little girl who's smarter than some of his own men to verbally destroying Tyrion and Joffrey he's a monster but a very very charismatic one.

Jaime has been the character who changed the most, the arrogant, clean cut knight living on his reputation is gone and now he's shown a more human side, him and Brienne have been a brilliant double act since he was let go from Robb's camp.

Tywin. He could extinguish all of Melisandre's fires just looking at them .

Guess it shows how the show has moved on since he got bopped but I'm amazed Ned Stark hasn't got one vote yet. Series 1 seemed almost to be built around him.

He was one of my favourite characters...I liked that in a world where almost every character had ulterior motives he maintained his honour, a lot of people probably find that boring.

Shouldn't it be Joffrey Lannister? :P

I started watching season 1 again over the weekend, all I could think was "half these people are dead!"

I was re-watching it and there's plenty of goodbyes between sets of characters who actually never met again! So sad! :(

Has to be Ayra with Tyrion a close second. Also loving Shae and Tywin.

It's mental that the last time John Snow and Ned talk is in the very first episode.

Season 1 - Who else, Ned Stark
    Season 2 - Tyrion Lannister
    Season 3 - Tyrion Lannister

I love Arya. She's such a little badass and I think she's just going to get even better. I can see her being the undoing of some big characters. She was pretty close to doing in Tywin, after all. She's a great little actress too, her scenes with Charles Dance in season 2 are really great. She's well able to hold her own. Tywin himself is a great character too, played to perfection also. The way he just burst into Kingslanding, won the battle, took over the position of King's Hand and stuck a muzzle on Joffrey, Cersei and Tyrion was beyond impressive. Tyrion is great too, acting as the voice of reason and coming out with some real zingers. His performance at his wedding to Sansa was both hilarious and really sad.

I don't really like Jon Snow and Ygritte too. That whole love affair is a bit mushy for me. And Stannis is a fcuking fool, living his life by the words of that religious fanatic. Cersei is by far the most detestable character in it though, for me. Even worse than Joffrey. At least Joffrey is up front about what he is, she acts all sweetness and light, but in reality is a massive bitch.

Stannis is an awful gob****e alright, as for Joffrey and Cersei, the **** all make the show, so they will survive a long time I'd guess

I wanted to say Littlefinger, because all of his dialogue is genius, but i went with the hound because "Fcuk Joffrey"

Then surely Tyrion should be considered?

The Hound for me. I can't work him out at all, which I like. For all his ruthlessness and his steely, hard, Neanderthal exterior, there is also a strange sort of softness and empathy inside of him.

I find him an incredibly interesting character and always look forward to his scenes.

yeah Tyrion is awesome too, but not my favorite. :)

I really think its two questions cause on the show my favourite was Robert Baratheon or the hound But in the books tyrion lannister by far. But I just don't think the show portrays how awesome/funny he really is.

It is hard to pick just from the TV series but in the books the characters have a lot more dimensions to them. Littlefinger is actually a beast! It is really hard to pick a favourite as they all have brilliant qualities!
