Vintage Tractor Registration Query

    OH recently bought tractor which has brown log book showing year of manufacture as 1975. Date of original registration is shown as 1987 and Registration No. is an 87 one. Why would it not have been given a Reg. No. according to its year of manufacture or is this how it was done at the time?

    That was common back in 1987, when unregistered tractors were imported. It took a full year before the Department amended the regulations to rectify it.

    Another question if anyone can help. When does the vintage road tax apply, on the aniversary of the year of manufacture or the year of registration.
