    Hey lads,

Just viewed a car and the seller had a cartell report with him, on the NMR section, the mileage had 2 entries,

1 from a few months back with like a 2 billion number entry, and the latest entry at the time of print around 50k which matches the car.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

It happens quite a bit. Every time someone does a check they have to enter the mileage at the time, and this figure becomes part of the car's record. If they add an extra zero then the next check will show a mileage discrepancy.

But it's a ridiculous value like 2,786,454,9384 for example, then the next value is 50,250 which matches the car.

    Why would someone do this?

Who knows? More pertinently, why hasn't the seller called Cartell and had this sorted out?

He doesn't really seem to know the ins and outs of Cartell and nmr and that, he just said he doesn't know why the other entry is there.

Does the service history/MOT/NCT certs back up the mileage?

NCT backs it up as it was only done a few weeks back for the 1st time, does the NCT centre record the mileage from the dash? or can they tell if theres any discrepancies?

    Haven't seen service history

Motorcheck at least, don't use the customer-entered mileage in their reports.

They only take what's on the dash at the time.

That'd concern me a lot more than the mileage discrepancy.

Where do they get the mileage from then?
