Passing by compensation

Wondering can someone help me out here, just finished my final year of an arts degree. Failed one exam at Xmas getting 35, but passed all the rest and hopefully passed the summer exams just taken as well. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to pass my degree by compensation or do I definitely have I repeat that exam?

It depends on the department, some allow it and some don't. Check the department website or give them a ring and ask.
