Hi me and a few friends were thinking of forming a band but I dont think there will be much demand for pub bands right now as the country seems to be flooded with them. Am I wrong what do you think?

The pub scene is well and truly on its knees. You'll get plenty of gigs if you're prepared to play for little or nothing. A wedding/party band is the way forward. At least you'd be playing to a crowd every night.

I'd book a drone doom band for my wedding if I could.
