SIMPLYINSURE.IE FIRSTIRELAND, 25PLUS,INSPIRE, AON, CAMPION, PIBASURE

Is there supposed to be a question in there somewhere?

No but i thought it might be handy for people to have a list of insurers in the market (if i forgot anyone feel free to add). Also thought there might be some interest in the range of quotes.

The list of insurers is handy but the quotes that you got are really only relevant to you. Someone else trying those same insurers may get very different results.

Yep. Every risk is different, and almost identical cases will yield different quotes. The only way to get the best quote is to call/email everyone. It's a pain in the ass I know.

    Alternatively use a decent Broker.

true but if a 40 year old lad gets a quote for 900 in a similar car and sees whats above it might be useful.

    Not really.

Unless it's the a very similar person, with an identical car (make model engine spec), living in the same area, with the same level of driving experience, and the same type of license, the same ncb, the same claims history, the same amount of penalty points, opting for the exactly same cover, excess, bonus protection, and needing cover within a few days of the earlier quote as rates change daily and insurers will harden or soften idependently of each other.......

I could go on but I hope I've shown such a notion isn't really of much use.

Arran Insurance in Harolds' Cross is another one who managed a good quote with Aviva for me compared to Aviva Direct who were €800 more expensive. It looks like I'll be going with Axa through First Ireland myself, €400 less than Axa's renewal price.

I am not suggesting that this is the most scientific method in the world but if someone else is renewing their insurance the information might be useful. (Perhaps it wont but no harm done).

While rates change regularly, they are surely not independent.
