Say for example you're staying 2 nights in a hotel (within Ireland), I'll be checking in during the evening on a Friday and checking out Sunday morning. But, will my room be cleaned on the Saturday? I'll be having a manic night Friday so was hoping to just stay in all day Saturday truth be known, so will the do not disturb sign be enough for them not to come in and clean my room???

Usually they'd be cleaning your room on the Saturday, but I guess you could always mention when you check in that you don't want this to be done? The do not disturb sign would usually be enough to stop them from coming in, but I've stayed in hotels where the cleaners would still knock on the door even when the sign was up (don't think that was in Ireland though).

Let them know at the front desk that you dont want the room cleaned. They will let the cleaners know.

+1 as long as you don't expect to be able to demand that the room is cleaned late on the Saturday then you should be ok. The problem for hotels is that some people want to be up half the night, sleep all day and then feel able to phone down at 6 p.m. asking for their room to be serviced when all of the housekeeping staff (aka chambermaids) have gone home.

If you tell them that you're prepared to take the room for two nights with no housekeeping services then you shouldn't have a problem.

are you providing your own housekeeping service and maybe a camerman?

If its a proper manic night out, the cleaners will be done by the time you get back to the hotel. ;)

I find sleeping naked above the covers usually gets housekeeping to leave if the DND sign doesn't work :pac::pac::pac:
