Hey I am trying to fill out my susi application form and because I was twenty three last march I am not a mature applicant. At the moment I am trying to fill out the form and wont let me without my parents details because if you were not twenty three before January you are seen as being a dependant.

Now here is the thing I moved out when I was seventeen and I don't have any of my parents details or financial details. I have also not moved home since then so that is six years on my own is that not enough to be deemed independent.

Im afraid you cant be deemed independent until next year and if you apply this year and get turned down but still goto college in September you won't be able to change from dependent to independent next year either

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Wow that is very messed up that people who are twenty three years of age are considered to be dependants automatically. I would understand if I lived with my parents but I have been financially independent for years at this stage.

Susi..the software they are using is way off the mark not allowing people to get the correct info up there.Wont bore you with my own experience. Tonight's news said 565 people were still tryn to get last term's money and the experience I'm havn with them recently is absolutely crazy..eg...the helpdesk cannot come across ANY application to help/check ANYTHING....I did ask..'and the purpose of a helpdesk is?'.
These people are not at the races..so is any BODY getting together to represent 'SUSI Sufferers'..The ombudsman's office had 30 complaints in the first day accepting complaints...they are desperate!
