Mixing LNBs on a single port of a multiswitch

I am planning to use about 4 Quattro ku LNBs and a saorsat ka LNB on the one dish. As the ka only needs to use one input (probably low band vertical), can I use the remaining spare 3 inputs on that port for 2 or 3 feeds from another satellite/lnb so that it looks like there are more channels coming from that satellite/port?

I plan to use a 17/8 switch which has 4 satellites x 4 Quattro inputs (plus 1 terrestrial giving 17) feeding a combination of sky boxes and other PVRs. It just seems a waste to restrict this to 4 satellites and have 3 spare inputs in the case where one of the sats is saorview. I am thinking something like
28e, 19e, 16e, 13e and 8e and maybe share the 4th port between saorsat and 3/4 of the 16e channels or something, if possible.

Maybe this won't work as they have different LO frequencies or there may be another impediment...

    Any ideas please?

No reason why you couldn't connect another lnb to the unused ports.

How many receivers do you intend to feed from this multiswitch? How many need 2 feeds & how many are Sky boxes?

    Thanks Peter
I am not sure if I have the terminology but I am calling a group of 4 inputs (Lo V, Lo H, Hi V and Hi H) as a port so if I have 4 sats then I don't have a port free but I have some inputs on a given port free. Sorry if that comes across as pedantic but I just want to be sure I am clear on what you mean. Anyway it sounds like you are saying that it should work.

I don't think it should matter how many outputs I use from the multiswitch but I will be using either sky+ boxes or PVRs so either will require two feeds from the multiswitch so I will have a max of 4 receivers.

    Cheers

I got what you meant re. the connections: no problem connecting different lnbs to the same set of inputs.

Just make sure 28 east is on the 1st set of inputs, as (you're probably aware) Sky boxes don't do DiSEqC switching.

As you seem to be new to multiswitches I should warn you, to set up the dish using normal LNB's one at a time, then swap for quattro LNBs. Always check the signal before the multiswitch, as signals after it goes through a multiswitch cannot be relied upon as multiswitches have variable amplifiers which can give false readings.

It is not adviced to connect a quattro LNB direct to a receiver, only via a multiswitch.
