Is it possible to do an introduction to e.g. Spanish module if you have done leaving cert honours in the subject ?

Will the registration allow you to choose the elective ?

srsly though, even if you get through registration, at the start of the module you declare what competency you have in the language and loads of other stuff on a form. You REALLY dont want to lie on these things. Also the language lecturers aren't stupid, they know if someone can speak a language to a certain level or not.

Your best bet is to go for a level 4, or if you really cant be arsed, a level 3 in whatever language you wanna do.

tl;dr - You cant bull**** the ALC

I did german for the leaving and I started in German Language 1a which was level 1 module.
If you didn't do german for the leaving you had to do a module called "german for general purposes".

Perhaps this is the same in other subjects

There are electives which are easy without having to lie so openly. It's going to look very odd that you're stumbling in class / the introduction form thing then suddenly get an A in the final exam!
If you are just doing this for an elective with a language aspect, I'd do a language module in a completely new language.
