Just started to get new feeders ready for this season can I ask has anyone just hung this type of feeder in or beside a bush / tree area, this is the first year using these we use the larger type 120Ltr drum on 3 timber legs. added the Dog for the crack:D

We had them a few years ago. Dont like them at all. They waste a lot of feed with the swaying and that. The 3 legs are a far better idea I find.

We tried one for a while and taped half the feeder with tape, so only lets a small amount of feed out we don't like the springs as they get jammed up with feed. We can also secure them to a fence post if needed.

Securing them to a fence post wouldnt be a bad idea. Dont like the springs either, those ones you have there are a good job but they do let out a bit too much feed.

We use them like that too but hang them in cover so the wind isn't bad so they loose very little feed. We also coach bolt them to trees and posts and find they work great that way too. Best of luck wit them anyway

Another good place to get the buckets is your local chipper, you'll have to wash the garlic mayo and taco sauce out but it's an unlimited supply if you get friendly with the owner/manager

Yea yours are better than the chipper ones as they are a bit bigger and don't have silly writing all over them!!

There is a bigger size too, I always wondered about hanging them from trees but I think the deer would empty them on me daily :(
