Bellew must be ****ting himself. Hopefully there will be decent odds on a Stevenson KO because that fight is only going one way.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Stevenson won't last long as champ and anyone who's anyone will be looking to fight him. Expect Hopkins to spot the potential for another belt v someone who's similar but not as good as Cloud. Chances are though that Pascal will be his next fight in a mega night for Canadian boxing.

I'd actually give Bellew a good chance as he's a much smarter boxer than given credit for. If he weathers the early rounds onslaught I'd fancy him quite strongly.

Have to say though I loved Stevenson's celebrations, now that's an outpouring of joy if I ever saw it.

He will be fighting Bellew next. And he will KO him. Bellew has been put down by lighter punchers than Stevenson.

I'd agree his reign wont last long but can't see Bellew beating him.

He is pure, unadulterated scum though. He used to keep underage girls as prisoners, pimping them out, raping them, and making them fight each other. He also routinely jumped into their fights and beat the girls to a pulp himself. Added entertainment value for his paying audience I guess.

For once I hope Bellew beats him.

It's pretty bad alright. A fair few scumbags have made their living in boxing but this guy's from a whole other realm altogether.

Did he get jail for this?

Massive massive allegations there in fairness, have these been substantiated? any criminal conviction for the above?

or is it heresay from another boxing forum? not having a pop just genuinely curious

It was widely known already but HBO covered it before the start of the fight last night - 'Boxer and Buddies Held Women in Reign of Terror' ran the headline they showed while Stevenson was talking.

Speaking of which, did Gamboa admit to taking substances from the Biogenesis clinic? I heard it was mentioned in the commentary that he'd said this was the case in the HBO fighter meeting.

No he has been to prison for it, back in the late 90's

That win puts Stevenson in cash city, alot of big fights he can be in now. I wouldnt expect Bellew to be top of his list unless hes forced into it, a defense in Canada in Autumn good do good numbers do. With the expectation that he fights the winner of Bute-Pascal in another Canadian superfight.

    Other options include:
Froch - Be a big fight for Carl, could become LHW Ring world champion

Cleverly/Shumenov - Think these two are fighting soon, Cleverlys next opponent announced tomorrow, the winner in a unification.

Ward - Ward will be looking for this because he would win imo

Hopkins - Could see Hopkins winning, cant see it happening though

Bellew v Stevenson set for purse bids on July 26 - 08/07/2013

Liverpool star closing in on WBC light heavyweight World title shot

The WBC have set a purse bid date of July 26 for Tony Bellew to challenge Adonis Stevenson for the light heavyweight World title.

Bellew claimed the mandatory challenger position by defeating Isaac Chilemba in a final eliminator at the O2 Arena on May 25, while Stevenson stunned former champ Chad Dawson with a first round KO to win the belt in his native Canada on June 8.

Stevenson has requested an interim bout against former IBF champ Tavoris Cloud in September but the WBC will only grant this if all parties are contracted to the Tony Bellew fight which must happen within 90 days of their bout.

Bellew has been down about 5 times in his career, I really can't see him avoiding Stevenson early here. If he does and thats a big if then he could win it on points. After reading about Stevenson I would love to see him get knocked outcold but Bellew is very average.

Neither are great fighters but it is hard to see Bellew not getting ko'd in this. I was really hoping Hopkins would get a shot at Stevenson.

Seems a few were wrong about Stevenson, super performance last night, he will absolutely murder Bellew.

Bellew is sitter for a power left hand, and Stevenson can bang. Too slick, fast and neat. He is an underrated boxer. Broke Cloud quite easily last night. Bellew won't last 3 rds. I would love to see Kovalev-Stevenson.

Having said the above, I'm now not quite so sure...

Saw Stevenson at the weekend and he really surprised me, with his very rounded display. We know he has power, but he showed, speed, movement, good defense and excellent countering ability. I know Cloud isn't the slickest, but I fancied his chances in this one, but really it was one-way traffic.

If Bellew can last out the first few rounds, it will be interesting to see if he can make his underrated skills count, but that's a big "if".
