First car query

Hi

I'm looking into buying my first car, budget of about 1000.. So far I've been looking at the likes of Fiat Bravos, Fiat Stilo, VW Polo, Opel Astra. They all seem to cost around the same for insurance but I've looked it up on here and apparently the Stilos are bad for the electronics in the car.

Has anyone got any advise on any other cars to choose or if one of the above would be suitable? Would like to get a car that's cheap enough to run on petrol etc.

Very far away from me though unfortunately! Waterford here so mainly looking in Waterford, Tipperary, Cork

You can't really go wrong with a festy. Fiats are a nightmare.

Thanks but wouldn't really be my thing! Think a ford fiesta might be a bit small for me too.. 6'1 here and whenever I've sat in one I felt like I was gonna go through the window!

It depends on what work is required to get it through the NCT, likely to be on the rough side hence the price.

There's another few on sale in Waterford with a long NCT. Just not sure about their reliability? A couple of people on here have posted about electric problems with them so not really sure. Really like the look of them though.
