Tommy stack sending over Clancy avenue again for a listed race in haydock.
Was second last time out in a sales race in Newmarket. Admittedly the form hasn't worked out to go on paper but I feel it is probably not as bad as it looks and them sales races are tough to win. Still some 13/2 around but imagine he will go off 4or5/1. Lordan over also for the spin and I know they are expecting a big run.

Also they have a newcomer in the first in navan who is fairly well thought of but I believe he will need the run and it looks a decent maiden.

Tommy similar to Ger Lyons when it comes to sending them across, they're rarely without a chance

Nice spot, saw it myself, taken 6/1 EW thievery. Form looks decent, in fairness. Zanetto landed a listed contest subsequently. Professor is mighty short.

For those interested and to put it into perspective of how good Mossey Joe was, he won tonight in a time that was 6.7 seconds quicker than standard despite not coming off the bridle, crashing into the last fence and making the running himself on ground officially described as good. Harbour Court won over the same C+D earlier in the night carrying 4lb less in a 15 second slower time (readily enough as well) whilst the 126 rated That's Rhythm completed the same course and distance in a 12 second slower time MJ and was carrying 6lb less if taking into account the jockey's claim. That would very strongly suggest to me that both Chapoturgeon and Salsify ran to form and Mossey is just that much better than them. Absolute beast of a performance and it emphasises how much of machine he really is.

    2.45 Chester

    Chester Aristocrat 11/2

This looks a tricky little contest but I've been impressed with Chester Aristocrat's last two victories and I think there is a strong chance that a 5lb rise won't be enough to stop this progressive 4 year old from completing his hat trick. Having looked like he had levelled out at about a 70 rated horse as a 3 year old winning one of 10 starts last year, Chester Aristocrat has clearly progressed a lot over the winter having shot up 15lb in 4 starts this year which culminated in victories in his last two starts and given the way he won his last two races I think there is more to come as he has clearly appreciated the drop to 6f. Having narrowly gone down on his reappearance by a neck off a mark of 70 over 6f at Thirsk back in April, Chester Aristocrat ran a fine race in defeat off a mark of 74 when upped to 7f at that course when fading in the final furlong to finish 3rd in what was another really good effort. He then proceeded to land a gamble by the yard 2 starts back when dropped back to 6f as he held on well by 0.5L to score in a race where the front 3 were over 4L clear of the remainder of the field. He was then sent out under a 6lb penalty 9 days ago under today's pilot Jason Hart to again score by 0.5L under a front running ride at Hamilton but again I felt he scored authoritatively and was value for more than his margin of victory and I think a 5lb rise is more than fair. Under top weight today, Hart's 5lb claim looks priceless and he has proven he likes the track when not beaten that far when a lot of things went against him over a mile last year (ran here 3 times; too green on debut and pulled up after a furlong) and he's well enough drawn in stall 6 to hopefully sit just behind the leaders on the rail which is normally very important at the track. Eric Alston loves having winners here which the horses name suggests and if continuing his fine form at present I think he has a really good chance of getting up the hat trick up here.

    3.30 Newmarket

    No Heretic 4/1

I think No Heretic's 4lb rise for his success on Newmarket's other course at the Guineas meeting last month looks very lenient and given that David Simcock thought his charge would need the run and he sweated up badly I think this progressive 4 year old has a superb chance of landing this contest. Trained by Paul Cole as a 2 year old when progressive in Maidens and winning at the 3rd time of asking, No Heretic joined David Simcock for his 3 year old campaign where he continued his upward mobility in 5 starts for his Newmarket based connections. Having travelled extremely well on his seasonal reappearance last year before fading tamely, No Heretic ran a fine race in defeat over 12f at Newmarket off a mark of 80 in a race that has worked out well last August before going one better in fine style off a mark of 81 in an Amateur Riders contest at Epsom 3 weeks later when scoring by over 3L. That success saw him justly raised 8lb to a mark of 89 off which he was narrowly beaten in a blanket finish on his final start last season at Doncaster over 15f in a race that has worked out well as he went down by little more than a neck. Off the track 8 months and very weak in the market which suggests Simcock's claim he believed the run was needed, No Heretic ran out an impressive 1.25L winner over the 12f trip last month under William Buick off an unchanged mark. Having travelled into the race well, No Heretic hit the front inside the final 2f and despite wandering badly he recorded a cosy enough success and, given that race has historically been very decent, the 4lb rise looks more than lenient and I have full faith that this unexposed and improving 4 year old is more that able to win off his new rating of 93. The runner up that day Suegioo reopposes off 3lb better terms today but I am confident No Heretic can confirm the form against that rival who was race fit and I think it will take a very well handicapped horse if No Heretic runs to form. The Simcock yard are flying at the moment and with Buick again in the saddle I think No Heretic will take quite a bit of beating and I've had a decent bet in the hope he can continue his improvement.

    7.45 Stratford

    Rebel Du Maquis 11/2

If his recent Hunter Chasing exploits have restored his confidence as opposed to that being the level he is at now, the very easy winner of this race 2 years ago looks to be very well weighted off a 6lb lower mark and could take quite a bit of beating here. Back in the 2010-11 season, Rebel Du Maquis looked a very exciting chaser winning 4 of his 7 starts and the undoubted highlight of his career to date came when winning this corresponding race very easily on handicap debut off a mark of 142 under top weight by 11L in a race that is very strong form. He was then thought worthy of taking his chance in the Galway Plate off a mark of 153 after that where he finished a respectable 9th before he was sidelined for 14 months for one reason or another. He made a respectable reappearance when a 13L beaten 6th in a Listed Handicap off a mark of 146 back in September last year and after disappointing in the Betvictor handicap chase at Cheltenham back in November he's been sent Hunter Chasing so far this year. Beaten a head on his Hunter Chase debut over 3m in soft ground at Taunton back in March, Rebel Du Maquis fell in the Foxhunters at Aintree when still travelling well back in April before registering his first victory in the guts of 2 years last month when just lasting home by a short head under a forceful ride over 21f at Cheltenham. If comparing his Hunter Chase form to his mark of 136, he won't come anywhere in this but if those 3 runs were to rebuild his confidence then his current mark looks very nice and given that he is only 8 he certainly shouldn't be over the hill. Harry Derham takes the ride and a very useful 5lb off his back and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the shrewd Paul Nicholls has targeted this race for quite a while given that he clearly goes very well over this C+D. Although risks clearly come attached, if Rebel Du Maquis is anywhere near the horse he was when winning this 2 years ago then he's going to take a ridiculous amount of beating off a mark of 136 and although not one to go overboard with I'm certainly happy to take 11/2 for a horse representing in from and shrewd connections.

    8.30 Newbury

    Double Cee 11/2

Keeping this short and sweet but Warren Greatrex's 4 year old Double Cee really caught the eye LTO when staying on very strongly over 11.5f and, despite looking an absolute rogue that day, he clearly seems to have a lot of ability and Richard Hughes looks an eye catching booking as his predominantly National Hunt trainer steps him up to 13f today. A very progressive 3 year old for Richard Fahey last year which saw him win 3 times and rise from a mark of 58 to a peak rating of 77, Double Cee joined the excellent Warren Greatrex as a hurdler this year and despite being abysmal twice over hurdles and in a fibresand bumper, his trainer clearly thinks an awful lot of him given he was pitched into a Grade 2 on his hurdling debut. Returned to the flat back in April at Windsor, he was again awful when virtually pulled up but he all of a sudden bounced back to form last month at Lingfield with a highly encouraging if temperamental error. Prior to the race, Greatrex stated in his blog that they felt they were getting to the bottom of understanding him and his latest neck defeat off a mark of 70 certainly suggests they're close to harnessing what is clearly a lot of talent. Under Jim Crowley, Double Cee again looked a mess of a horse for the first part of the race looking outpaced and disinterested and his jockey had to administer a reminder 6f out. Despite being well off the pace turning into the home straight, Double Cee finally seemed to cop on as he stayed on to very nice effect late on to go down by a neck and although the winner was always holding him it was streets ahead of what he had shown in the past 7 months. He's been raised 3lb for that to a mark of 73 (3lb above his last win) but now finally looking a horse who's keen to race I think he'll kick on a lot from his latest run and he should definitely appreciate the step up to 1m5f today. Richard Hughes looks a very eye catching booking for one of the shrewdest yards around and I'm certain that a big run is expected by connections. Clearly a horse that comes with risks attached, I get the impression that Double Cee has a bucket load of raw ability and if the Champion jockey can harness all this 4 year old's potential it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he runs out a ready winner tonight.

    Haydock 2:05

Apache has looked in need of both runs this year, and now stepped up in trip of a nice looking mark with the application of a hood, today could well be a chance for him to get back to form. He was 3rd in the Melrose at York 2 years ago of a mark of 98 and is in here of 89 despite having only run twice since. Both runs for his new stable have been over too short a trip and I’m pretty sure he was bought for this type of race. He also has winning form on firm ground. 22/1 looks a decent price.

    1 Point win 22/1 Bet365 & BetVictor

    Newmarket 2:55

Gatepost looks to have a very decent shot here of this mark given his very good runs here last year over c&d of significantly higher marks. He is 9lbs lower than what looks a very good 5th here in a race that could scarcely have turned out better for those ahead of him that time. He looks as if he is ready to get back to form last time out at Chester and hopefully that can happen today. 12/1 in a few places looks a reasonable bet.

    1 Point win 12/1 Boyles/Ladbrokes

Have L'Importante in the First Race at NewMarket by New Approach Ryan Moore Up 10-1 looks a nice price. Also Took a punt on Prompter for Jonjo in The 3.20 at Chester whether fully revved up not sure but hurdles rating was higher than today.

2 horses that caught my eye today. Angel Gabriel won very well l.t.o. at ascot, beat better horse than today's race even if stepping up a class.I think there's more improvement to come.6/1 is a great price. Fayr fall in the 3.35 catterick looks the one. If he can recapture his form from last season he should see off this field no problem.12/1 is a great price, surely has to be at least placed.

Im expecting No bunaga to run a big race in the 7.45 at Stratford at 14-1. Course form and only runner of the day for Venetia.

Backing Souviens Toi in the 2.40 at Haydock, got murdered when going for a gap up the rail LTO at goodwood when she seemed to be tanking along, compensation awaits today. Also small bets on tappanappa in the 2.05 & city girl in the 3.50, both at haydock and summerinthecity 2.55 & sueigoo 3.30 both Newmarket

    Newmarket 3:30

Suegioo looks to be a small bit of value in this race. He has been very consistent and still looks to be on the upgrade. He was a very good 2nd to the Fav last time out and gets a 3lbs turnaround in the weights. He didn’t have the best of runs in that race and there really should be anything between them this time. He looks a small bit of value at 7/1 compared to the fav who is half the price.

    1 Point win 7/1 Generally

    Newmarket 2:20

I’m going to go with a gut feeling selection here in Halfsin. He has some excellent course form here and although he was poor enough last year, with possibly too many runs on soft ground, and was again poor first time out this year, I’m hopeful hell turn it around at some stage. A Tongue Tie is tried for the first time today and if that can get him back to form at all he is well handicapped on his best for. It looks worth a min bet here just in case.

    ½ Point win 22/1 Generally

It's a maiden so wouldn't be the best race to be trying to win beer money on, Not a whole lot of form to go on either. I'd swerve it if I was you and find something else :)

In saying that the fave does look quite solid but again I wouldn't be going in at 11/8 in what looks a decent maiden on paper.

Looks a no bet race to me their is 3or4 nicely bred 1s there that could be anything! Favourites form looks decent. Stalactite is probably the most interesting to me but I suspect he will definitely need the run as saeed bins horse tend to be green as grass on debut. Good luck if you are betting though. Personally I would be reluctant to back 1 in that race with a free bet!!

Sweet refusal in the last at navan looks a decent price at 10's. haven been beaten by the 7/2 fav in this race to second LtO by a neck the race looked like it was all his but I think he may well have been produced a little to early. There's decent swing in the weights too the price isn't any way proportionate to his chances

Can JOB ever get a horse home in a good fight to the line?

I've been watching him racing quite a bit this season and he seems to get outfought quite a lot when the going gets tough.

Absolute shocker. Perhaps needs a bit of cut in the ground but no excuses for that run. At least bismark ran a nice race all be it out of the frame. 1 for the next day!
