Switched over to RTE1 just to see who was on, and got greeted with the friday night movie. Thought ah, it must be over for the summer, other side of mind thought some scandle or event has happened and they cant broadcast.

When they run out of films RTE will be rolling out the same shows as last year

Miriam O'Callaghan returns for the ninth series of her hugely successful summer chat show. The programme will be broadcast live every Saturday night from 22nd of June to the 10th of August, 2013.

We only have 11 more Fridays left without Tubridy. Come September, he will be back as good (or otherwise maybe!) as ever. Perhaps over the next 11 weeks or so, Tubridy and those in charge of the show could sit down and revamp it. What we need to see is:

For starters, less boybands. There are actually other types of music in Ireland! There are other singers out there who are not affiliated with Louis Walsh! As well as this, we need to see less of these self styled celebrity bores like Twink, Ruby Walsh and the like. Also, we need to see less of the promos for other RTE shows (something Tubridy did on his Saturday show and transferred to his current one). We definitely need less talk about babies with every guest.

However, I predict none of these changes will occur. Instead, we will have more Louis Walsh and Louis Walsh managed acts, more baby talk from rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll and his actress wife, RTE presenter Claire Byrne, and C&W/pop singer Imelda May. And I'm sure there will be a lot of other celeb babies pulled out of the can too besides these! AND NO TALK to any of them about what they actually do!! I'm sure Twink will be on again and the promo of other shows and the silly interviews will continue. Last season was the worst ever for the show - can 2013-14 beat this? It has a better than average chance of doing so!

It ought to be a lot better than the LLS - except that Nicky Byrne is hosting alongside Aidan Power, and it looks like there won't be any sign of Laura Whitmore despite her presence in RTE's summer trailers...
