Air conditioning service recommendation [in Dublin]?

Now that we have a bit of heat the A/C is on more, but there's a bit of an odour from it.

I tried the halfords gas bomb thing back in November, which worked for a while, but now it seems to be even worse in this heat.

Any recommendations for reasonable A/C service/clean/regas in south Dublin?

Just had mine done last week in Fastfit in Dun Laoghaire. It was practically non existent before I went and is nice and icy cold now. Think they are doing some special at the moment - it was €35 for regas and the air bomb thing.

I thought is was €40 for regas and the air bomb thing an extra €10?

Yeah - so did I. Called fastfit in Bray first and they said it was €40 for just regas. I thought Dun Laoighaire undercharged me but there was a sign in reception highlighting that a regas and air bomb was only €35.

How long does it take? I might use Dun Laoighaire during a lunch break...

    It was about 1.5 hours.

Got the standard €40 regas over the weekend (no special offers).

Surprisingly there was no gas to be taken out, would this be normal/explainable? Or else I might have a leak. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on it...

Didn't they check it for leaks? The gas has to have left the system somehow.

Did you change your Pollen Filter? I just did mine today and it made a massive difference! I'd imagine it was in the car for the past 14 years

I asked that alright, they said the pressure test came back fine. Did say if it was a tiny hole, it wouldnt be detected....I suppose for that some of money they are just going to follow the re-charging procedure. It has done the trick, but my concern would be for how long. Car is 5 years old.

I take it it wasn't switching on at all before and now it's working fine?

Correct, the A/C led was on, but the blower was just like a ordinary fan without A/C.

Since the recharge, its cooled the cabin down, but sure our summer is now gone
