Silage after reseed

    Lads,

Want to reseed about 8 out of 30 acres of my silage ground this August. Would it be a bad job taking a cut of silage out of it next year? (assuming that the reseed works out.) I'd normally give it an extra year to establish and tiller before a cut of silage but the two fields are bad enough. Grass seed would be for silage and grazing, not silage only.

    Thanks.

You will get a couple of grazings before the end of this year so that should be enough to get it tillering. You could also take a light grazing before closing in the spring.
