They're all run on the same route.

Great race last year. Course isn't overly tough, but can be selective if people push the pace.

@velogirl, that's the wrong route on the BWCC website, no? Surely not going to be racing up/down Devil's Glen?

This was the route in 2012 http://app.strava.com/activities/10417573

Not the wrong route - it goes from the filterbeds to Roundwood Farm/Weston Gates - left across to tomriland crossroads left down the Devils Glen road for a few kilometres - left again at Annagolan up the hill at Boleynass and left at Ballyduff crossroads and back to the filterbeds on the lake.

Unfortunately this has been cancelled this weekend. Extensive resurfacing works i.e. gravel, in the area on both the main race route and now on sections of the alternative route. Details re rescheduled date to follow.

The Roundwood GP and the Christy McManus race have been postponed but the youth races on Saturday morning will go ahead as scheduled. The adult races will be run at a later date.

Sign on for the youth racing (on a revised circuit) will be as scheduled from 9.15 - 10.00 at Roundwood GAA hall just outside the village - on the left - on the Annamoe/Glendalough road

Enjoyed that. Did the A4 race and finished outside the placings but near the front so happy out. Did loads of work out front early on and felt strong but my positioning and brain let me down somewhat.

Coming up to the finish and over that gravelly hill for the last time I worked hard over the top and worked my way up the bunch till I slotted in at 4th wheel and in a great spot, but with 3km or 4km to go I needed to be more aggressive and work a bit harder. The pace eased a little and I had plenty of room to go around and take it up but didn’t as thought I was too far out from the finish. Anyway lesson learned hopefully. Loads of lads went round and while I was still near the front wasn’t quite in as good a spot.

The last corner was about 600m or 700m from the finish and I went around that in the top 15 or 20 and think I passed a few on the push for the line so happy out. Looked top 10 or so to me, but who knows. From chatting after the race there were way more than 10 in the top 10, but thats always the way :)

Yea, think I'm one of them 20 in the top 10 too, lol. Tough circuit, was not an easy race for me. Same as you, disengaged the brain on last lap, knew where i needed to be, was not far off ideal position on last bend but was not to be. Think I was about 8th.

Thanks Bray for a really well-run race.

Tried to push it up to 11 on the 'gravelly hill' last time round in A2/A3 and got a decent gap with four or five others but a failure to settle down and work together spelt the end for us. Watched the sprint from behind.

Great ride by the two lads who stayed away for pretty much the whole race.

Yes enjoyable race and a lot less gravel around than I was led to believe beforehand. Nice to be racing in smaller numbers and not have those nasty old man eating juniors around :D

Good quality riding too, felt safe.

Absolutely savage ride out of them, I clipped away with them on the tough drag after the finish line on the 3rd lap, rode with them for the guts of a lap before I blew my lights and went back to the bunch...two very strong riders!
