HDMI switch for Xbox and Sky box

Story folks. I have an Xbox and a Sky box connected up to my television via HDMI cables. I have a non powered 3 input/1 output port HDMI switch in place. Sky box in position 1, Xbox in position 2, 3 is empty and the television in the Single output.
However, when I have both cables connected at the same time I cant get a signal from the Sky box unless the Xbox is turned on. Is there anyway of solving this without having to have the Xbox on? do I have the correct HDMI switch http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/LOGIK-LHDSW12-3Way-HDMI-Switch/310968/192.2
    Thanks

I've tried a few of these HDMI switchers in the past and always found them flaky at best. Ended up having to just replace with AV Amp with one that had more HDMI inputs.

This is the switch I used so stay clear of it:

That HDMI switch is overpriced. You can get ones with remotes for about 15$ so that you can easily change which input is activated.
The HDMI switch I have has a button on it to switch between each input, the PS3 seems to overpower all my other inputs, but if I use the button I can change to other inputs without turning the PS3 off.
Not sure if yours has that button, if it doesn't I doubt there is a way to fix your problem.
