In in one sense an AMD APU build might be ideal for your current needs if you are not into the most graphically intensive games. Its certainly ideal from a pricing perspective and it wouldn't be far off the HD6670 in you built in graphical terms.

The only thing against it really is that FM2+ will be replacing FM2 (the socket type not the game ;)) in about 6 months time so it not so upgradable from that point of view, as you would have to replace the MB and CPU next time around. (The A10-6800K was released this week, it a minot enough improvement, but not on HWVS yet).

You may be as well off with what you have posted above, but I'll throw up the option anyway, a plus side is that I can get an SSD in there on budget.

Cheers for that suggestion. I was looking into the 5800k and 6800k aswell but I wanted the freedom of being able to upgrade my graphics in future. From what I see the fx6300 is better than the 5800k stock and has slightly better OC potential. Really if im upgrading it will only be a graphics card/bigger PSU and maybe a CPU fan if I overclocked. Not too worried about a SSD as im going to use the one I upgraded in my laptop that is fully loaded with all my core programs and my OS.

Would I be wrong in thinking that the 6300 is better than the 5800k in terms of raw processing power and the fact it has 6 cores opposed to the others 4. I see the 6300 being compared to a mid range i5 ivybridge in terms of real world useability.

I should have mentioned that I will be using it for Photoshop and Illustrator which benefit more from a more powerful processor. And I usually have several applications running at once so I think I would be better with 6 cores
