    Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a few bars club for me and my bf who are heading to Ibiza in 2weeks.
He doesnt like dance music or chart music... I know this limits things!! Does anyone know any clubs etc that play rock alternative or more quiet bars etc
And are there any nice steakhouses there?
    Thanks in advance

In 2011 I spent a few months there and I am old codger so found a few places that did rock and roll.
As the population of Europe gets older there are more bars doing the oldies stuff from my era like Punk rock LOL

Head down the beach front about 2 kilometers from center (just about where the turn to get to get to the Jamaican bar on the beach) is Hotel (cant remember the name ) that hotel often does rock and roll stuff .There are others but often you need suitable transport .
I still got my MAINLAND Spanish friend there and he does part time taxi service for tourists (like i used to do to make a few quid )
PM me if you want his telephone number
However most people just wanted those Night club runs even the over seventies as that is what Ibiza mostly does.
The rock and roll country and western stuff tends to be mostly in the capital Ibiza and each year new bars open and old bars close down so what was good in 2011 might be different again in 2013 .

The rock and roll older music brigade pubs restaurants hotels tend to be populated with the more older locals often ex pats who work in Ibiza. Some of the musicians are even bar and hotel owners who just sing for the craic rather than for living .

Many of the Irish bars are not really up to much as the majority are owned by non Irish who bought it some decades back .
The cost of getting English and Irish beer sent to the Island has made many of them give up so for beer there is often two choices Spanish pints or Spanish bottles . The pints Its safe stuff now they employ only specialists to clean the pipes fairly cheap but not dirt cheap .be aware that its 5% alcohol often 6% so three pints there is like 6 pints in Ireland .Throw in the heat and often stomach bugs take advantage .Its not the beer is bad as many think its the beer is double the strength of Ireland and dehydrating weakens your deference to pick up other bugs that come in from the rest of the tourists from north Europe or Africa or similar

The island for me without transport like car or moped or suitable friendly taxi who isn't the island expensive taxi service is for me very limiting. Its a bigger island than it looks it takes nearly an hour to go from top to bottom as often the roads are not so great and the traffic jams increase at popular beaches especially the nudist beaches which are probably 60% of all the beaches . Even non nudist beaches tend to sometimes end up going nude even in main towns like Saint Antonio and Ibiza. The police only seem to get ratty if you try full nudity in the town itself rather than confine it to beaches . So don't be surprised what you see on the beaches they call non nude it just tends to mean seldom nude

With suitable transport every day going to the many fantastic beaches they have is what I prefer to do

you can bring your bicycles from Ireland on the planes with you costs €60 to €80 return (sports gear ) but much cheaper than hiring them at figures as high as €20 a day .many nice beaches are within two hours cycling of Saint Antonio. Many of the better restaurants seem to be outside saint Antonio .If you have electric bikes even better still you can cover 25% of the island easy from Saint Antonio

However many prefer to hang out the hotels swimming pool every body to his own .
There are many boats taxi service from saint Antonio and other big towns bringing people along the coast to many other beaches . For short hops like 6 kilometers seems to work well but some of the longer hauls to the other Island can be mission if your not the boating type .You do get to avoid the traffic jams .

There is bus service all over the island and its cheap and easy to figure it out . There are car rentals motor bike rentals and moped and electric bike rentals . As a rough rule it often much cheaper when you book the holidays to book the rental before you go as when you there the rentals tend to be pricy and the bike rental can be the same price as car rentals. Car renting is more hassle finding parking spots and getting stuck in traffic . motors bike scooters and Quad renting tends to cost even more as they can glide past the traffic and often can park most anywhere and not pay parking fees .However the hospital is chock a block every day with people that lose half their skin from falling off these things. I know I fell of my push bike and had to use these services for my minor cuts (minor cuts relative to what I saw coming in the door )

If you do get to Atlantis Beach that requires you bring lots of your own water as its hike down a mountain in the middle of no where to get to it and serious hike to get back up . I brought only 3 liters of water and i should have brought at least 5 liters of water

Sorry not clued up on the steak houses. Sea food is my thing and Spanish steaks are nowhere as good as Irish steaks . They are OK but most steak I bought in shops and fried up at the camp sites or on beach party barbies .Sea food me and friends just went snorkel diving an caught it fresh of the hoof ( don't let the cops catch you doing that )

Lots go and stay beside the pool do the night clubs and use the beach on saint Antonio and are happy with that. The beach in saint Antonio is nice OK does the job but the many many other beaches in the island make Saint Antonio beach look rather less interesting .I probably only saw 80% of the beaches so I can say its always disappointing to hear many people only saw Saint Antonio beach but that's life not everybody is a rock and roll country and western beach addicted beach bum like i am .
Hopefully next month I will get to stay for few months on the western part of Spain Tarifa Casablanca with its 15 miles long beaches
