Canine tooth

    My granny calls it the turnip tooth.... this tooth on right hand side sits infront of my other teeth theres a gap behind it... wondering would taken the tooth out or braces... as i tend to not smile because of this tooth... just want a bit of info on this

    Go see an orthodontist for a consultation op. if the tooth is too far forward and has a gap behind it , then it sounds like it should be moved back......

    I'm not a dentist of course, I had one like this when I was a kid. I asked for it to be removed and it took them 3 years to approve it, they only did so because it was affecting my quality of life, it wasn't going to harm me physically.

    They took molds for consultation and 6 months after they took it out, the gap filled really quickly and was unnoticeable a year later, no braces either. It depends on your age I suppose, if your still in school - it's probably the best time to get it done.

    I got it done when I was about 13 or 14, it was on medical card back in the days.

    It was one of these, btw. Dont know if this is what you were describing:
