Another newbie question. What are the advantages of deep section aero wheels if any to someone new to cycling? Is it true that its only at speeds of 35km plus they have any benefit?I understand their heavier weight will have a negative effect on climbing but do the aero advantages outweigh the negatives?

If you can ride with your back parallel to the ground, then there may be some performance justification in spending the money on them. Otherwise you should spend it on yoga classes.

They look and sound nice though which is the main reason most people have them.

Was the reason I' got them and they do that admirably ;-)

Would be the same reason I'd buy them. I don't ever envisage having a flat back.
