I've noticed a lot of eircom vans driving around recently so that could be a good sign. I'm hoping they come outside the town a bit although more than likely i'll be a little too far. On 3.7Mbps at the moment.

hard to get any real information out of Eircom.  If you check their map and zoom in, it does cover quite a wide area around Enniscorthy.  Haven't a clue when we're getting it though

ya it covers a lot but i presume that's the max area that fibre could cover (at a very low speed) but a lot of people are saying eircom will only go 1km from the cabinet. I'd say I'm about 2km straight line to exchange but with lines twisting and turning about 3km.

The vans are a good sign at least. If I hear anything in the mean time I'll let you know. Wishing I had fibre now seeing as my ps3 harddrive corrupted so lost like 500GB of data that I downloaded.

There are 2 versions of the map as well and an address checker. Would it really be that hard for eircom to post up where they install a cabinet. Make it so much easier.

i was thinking that when people get fibre, there will be a lot less traffic on the old copper system, so that should speed things up.

hi, i have couple of questions, the fibre broadband offers phone and fibre broadband, can i choose only the fibre without the phone line rental/calls? also i got a letter, offering 10e off my current bill, but i have to sign a contract for a year, now if i accept it, ill be paying slightly less, but when ever fibre rolls on, and i will be switched automaticlly, will my bill reflect that? or ill be paying same bill i have now only 10e shorter?

    Hi lisij,

I am afraid we don't offer a standalone Fibre package, it's only available within a bundle package.

When the Fibre is rolled out in your area and you can upgrade the €10 promotion will not carry forward I'm afraid, it's for a different product so the promotion is removed.

    Thanks

I got a leaflet yesterday from Vodafone saying my area is fibre enabled.  I ring Eircom, they know nothing about it, maybe in July they say. Just some accurate information please

    Hi eggman99,

We have checked all channels for Fibre and I'm afraid it is not available to you as of yet. We don't have any further information on the roll out of cabinets in areas/estates unfortunately.

If another service provider have sent you details advising they can offer you the service , we wouldn't to able comment on that from here as we have confirmed it's not available at your address.

    Thanks

    Tracey

Majority of Enniscorthy might go live this month or the next, but if the new cab is the one connected to your house that cab might not go live before the end of this year, cables still need to be fed to it and it needs to be commissioned which may take some time.

No it won't be possible to get an updated version, eircom wholesale took it down for a reason unknown to us.  We probably won't see that document again, as it was probably for retail eyes only.

You can understand why people get frustrated - Eircom wholesale took it down for a reason unknown to us, your own company is messing you around.  3 cabinets on the list including this one are landed, energised, and commissioned and says July 2013, so can you tell me when in July its live?

    Hi eggman99

Yes I can confirm this however it would be important to note that this is inrelation to completion or works or installing efibre in Enniscorthy and not specifically efibre availability to customers.

You have been informed on many occasions over this forum and twitter thateircom are aiming to have efibre available in Enniscorthy between July and late September and we have no further update to this.

We have made our position on this very clear to you on numerous occasionsboth on twitter and boards.ie over the past few weeks yet you will not accept this. I understand you are keen to get efibre however We are no longer going to be bated or bumped into repeating this information to you. If you wish to discuss this then please PM me your contact number and I will call you.

Eircom fibre launched May 20th(large urban areas only - of course they don't say that in the adds). Map showed May/June launch, then changes to July/December, then changes again to July/Sep. We had to get an excel document from Eircom wholesale(later taken down and you didn't even know why)  to show what was happening to the cabinets.  I had to provide you with a speech from your director of corporate affairs to get any information out of you.  Have a look at the boards and see the complaints against Eircom. I am not trying to harass or bate or bump you, your information to customers is terrible.  I am looking for the information on behalf of my company(65 employees 3mb download) and various relatives who have Eircom. I won't be bothering you any more or bothering with Eircom.

We here have been consistent with the message that efibre will be available to 4000 premises in the Enniscorthy area between July and September 2013. The map on our website is there as a guide and not all homes within the eFibre area can avail of the service. Specific address must be checked to ensure eFibre can be supplied. The is to our knowledge the rollout dates. We will have more information closer to the end date.

    Thanks

    Hi lisij

As modem bridging can conflict with the reccomended eircom set up/settings It's not something we can advice on or assist with.

Modem bridging is possible (at your own discertion)

This link will bring you to the best advice we can offer in relation to bridging

I'm sorry to bump this thread, but I live 54m from the main Enniscorthy exchange and I still can't get eFibre. Is there any word on when the center of town will be enabled? Using the address checker on https://www.eircom.net/broadband/, I can see that the Maple Leaf chinese restaurant can get fibre, but across a small road at Sam McCauleys can't. That's just ridiculous.

Your problem may be that you are connected directly to the exchange, and so don't have a fibre cabinet serving you.  My estate has the houses from 22 onwards enabled, yet we're closer to the cabinet and still don't have it.  Good luck with getting an answer from Eircom, other than "The map is for illustrative purposes only" or check back in 6 months", or "we have no information on ongoing works". They're the only answers you need to know if you work for Eircom

You wont get efibre as of yet if You are connected to exchange directly.
    No future information available yet.

Hi Alan. Im living in Enniscorthy at xx Cluain Bui. Cabinet for fibre is done and connected on my estate but still no sign of a fibre. Why is that? Another question is, i heard that beacouse of my estate comitee k&n couldnt finish job on my estate beacouse they had no agreement about digging in footpath from estate comitee to connect cabinet to esb supply. I cant get answer anywhere, can you investigate that for me please. If this is true i have more then 60 people signed the letter which is stating tht we are not happy with our commitee decisions. I and other people would like to know what is real situation with efibre for Cluain Bui estate in Enniscorthy co Wexford. Thank you.

    Hi Alan,

I've found out that I'm connected to the cabinet at the Paddocks in Enniscorthy.  This is not enabled yet.  Is there a possibility to cancel my existing phone line, and then get it connected to the cabinet at the end of the road that is commissioned.  Our houses were built before the cabinet at the end of the road was there, hence why we are connected to a cabinet further away. I know its a long shot, just asking

Finally got connected to the cabinet at the Vocational School(The Paddocks).  Waiting on an installation date.  Then see what sort of speed I can get

Success!! Finally got Fibre installed 46 down and 18 up, Ping 22ms.  Very happy with this as I am 600m approx from the cabinet.  With Vectoring on the way, the speed should increase further
