Underage players and parishes?

Sorry if this has been asked before but:

Do under age players have to play for the GAA team from the parish team in which they live?

There is a few situations relevant to our local team (Small village near big town).

    1) Children from outside our parish (some rural and some from other villages) attend our local primary school & they want to play on the same team as most of their school friends. Are they allowed?

    2) One young lad has recently moved into the town near our village but will have a way better chance of getting a game on our team than on the town team due to the amount of players. He joined our local soccer team and knows some of the Gaa players who play on both teams. Is he allowed to play on the GAA team even though he does not live in the parish?

In Mayo they do anyway, spent 3 years in the wilderness after asking for a transfer to my local club from the club where I "had" to play due to my address. Ultimately had to be dropped from the Mayo minor panel as the club I asked for the transfer from wouldn't register me or approve the transfer and I packed in GAA.
Have seen cases go to the high court about this. Crazy stuff

    Every county has bye laws

eg In Roscommon there is the parish rule, baptism rule and parents rule

in Westmeath there are none (mayhem)

It really depends on where it is (Countywise) as each county has its own set of rules, or no rules in some cases. If you post the county you will get a more definitive response.

Have you tried the Offaly GAA website? Should have contact details for Secetary, PRO etc.

I think that the messing (transfers etc) only comes in from U-12 on.

AFAIK u-8 and u-10 can play where they want, but as someone else said best to contact the county secretary just to be sure.
