JSA - getting job with delayed start date

    Hi,

I'm currently in receipt of JSA. This morning I got the good news that I'm being considered for a job which I applied for a few weeks ago. I have another interview to do this Friday, after which I should hear back pretty soon whether I've been successful or not. The problem is that the start date is not until 5th August.

I aware that if I am successful I'll need to inform the social welfare office immediately. Will I lose the JSA then as at that point I will not be seeking work anymore? Or will the JSA continue until my start date?

You will need to sign off on the day you start work not before. You can do so online https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/secure/CloseClaim.aspx

Thanks mp22 for your reply, so as I understand it, I will still have to look for other jobs until that date to show I am genuinely seeking work?
