recommend a netbook/ultrabook for travel

I'm going off backpacking soon. I'm looking for a small and light, basic netbook/ultrabook with a long battery life suitable for travel. I'll be using it for internet, word, skyping. Would like a reasonable key board. I suppose I'd prefer to pay around 500 but could stretch to 600.
