eBay buyer trying to get money from me

    Just looking for some advice.
I sold a Ralph Lauren jacket (worth €500) on eBay recently for €100. It was brand new with its tags still on it.
The person who bought it doesn't like it and is saying it's not a size 8. It is a size 8 (a UK size 8) and even says so on the label and fitted me and I'm a size 8.
She is demanding a partial refund as I "did not put the measurements on the listing"! I told her as a gesture of goodwill I'll give her a 10% refund (which is really annoying me as she got a great deal anyway on the jacket) but if she wanted a full refund then she would need to post the jacket back to me, as stated on my eBay listing. She is now saying it is "top expensive for her to post the jacket back" but she wants more than a 10% refund-she wants a 50% refund or she will leave me neg feedback!!!!!
Is there anything I can do? I am absolutely not willing to give her a 50% refund as I would never have sold the jacket for this amount. She is saying she needs to get it tailored to fit her!!! Not my issue in my opinion!!!

Offer her nothing more and if she leaves negative feedback ask Ebay to remove it as it's not correct (showing the fact your add clearly stated size etc.).

Thanks. Do eBay remove neg feedback usually?

The only one that can answer that is Ebay but if you can show that the negative feedback is unfounded (i.e. if she claims it was wrong size and you show it was s size 8 in the add and per your tests) there is quite a good chance; not a guarantee but a decent enough chance.

Don't give her anything! If she wanted the actual measurements she should have asked for them prior to buying, through contact seller. It's not your fault that she doesn't like it or it doesn't fit, quite frankly what she's doing is blackmail.
The item is as specified in the listing and she bought it. End of. She threatens you anymore report her to Ebay and blacklist her from your future auctions. Be prepared for a Paypal dispute too, but she'l likely lose that.

Thanks for all of your comments. I gave her the 10% discount. I felt blackmailed into it. Hopefully that's the end of it now and she won't leave negative feedback. She hasn't written back to me since our last exchange and I told her she would get no more. Fingers crossed now. Thanks again.

Hi I agree I wouldnt have given her anything! Shes lucky to get 10%. You also have an option to leave a reply to negative feedback. At least then future buyers can see your side. Some people are just unreasonable! As a buyer I dont put to much on a couple of neg feedbacks because you cant please all the people all the time, but as a seller I do tend to bend over backwards for good feedback, to a limit! But I am working towards top seller rankings so then every negative matters!

I sell quite a lot of clothing on ebay, and you get cowboys like this one all the time. They don't like it, or it doesn't fit, or I lied about the colour, or there's a hole in it... etc. They all usually want the same thing - it's still suitable to wear, but they want a partial refund. I usually block people like that as soon as I encounter them - more often than not they are taking advantage of the seller's vulnerability to get an even better deal on an item they scored cheap as it is. Don't be at all surprised if she relists it.

You made the right decision , - 10% loss is better than a Paypal /eBay claim , and limited access to your selling accounts .

A shrewd eBay seller would make an extra 10% on next transaction
