Custom made socks

I know this is probably a strange one. I'm looking to get a name sewed into a pair of knee high sports socks. I've looked online and all the sites have a minimum order requirement of 20 pairs etc. You can get custom sports socks made with your team crests and name etc on them. But I only want one pair. I've found one site that prints pictures on socks but they have to be white and they are only ankle socks. Does anyone know where I could get a single pair made up? My friend is roller derby crazy and I'd like to get them a knee high pair of socks in her team colours with her derby name down the back of them. Or if I can get the socks in her team colours would anyone know is there a way of getting the name sewn in after? I've already got her shorts with her name on it, the socks would really top off the gift. Thanks:)

If you had the socks already maybe one of those places that do names on kids items might do it for you? I'm mostly thinking of the Santa's stockings type thing but they must do other things too. Or a place that prints on t-shirts perhaps?

try an equestrian shop. Most will sell knee high socks in a variety of colours and some of them also have those machines that put names onto jackets and saddle cloths so its possible if you bought a pair of socks in the right colour they could use the machine to stitch them name on

thanks guys. Best result so far is one place will iron print the name onto the socks once they're cotton and flat. she'll charge about 10 quid to do it which ain't bad.
