hi just got my braces off 6 months ago- I have a metal retainer at the back upper teeth- delighted with it. however my plastic retainer that was originally moulded and fitted to my teeth for to wear at night- it broke- hubbie walked on it - anyhow I went in today with my original mould casting for to place an order for a new retainer to be made.
150e for 1 plastic retainer- just for the top row of teeth- could this be right? I was shocked, receptionist told me it was specialist orthodontic work

just to be clear, you went in with your original casting?? surely the teeth would have moved since?

I had to get my retainer replaced after I used boiling water to clean it and it warped (gold star for me!). I had to have new molds taken.

the original cast is what you had done before any treatment.

I was quoted €175 per retainer, (ie €350 for top and bottom) to get mine replaced.

I just got mine replaced after six months, top only off original moulds for no charge. 150 is pretty ridiculous.
