Macbeth questions could ask anything. First question will usually ask you to describe an episode from text, so you should know it really well. A character question. A personal response question. A staging question. The 30 marker will usually incorporate functional writing. You need lots of quotes - absolutely!

You don't need to know quotes for the comparative, but you may use them if you feel they strengthen your answer. I wouldn't include a lot of them, though. You need to know two of the comparative modes: 1. Theme; 2. Social Setting and 3. Aspects of Story: Climax or Tension or Resolution.
