    Anyone out there willing to rent out there privately owned boat to a couple and child on the Shannon for a few days. Willing to pay money

    OP, you're unlikely to get any takers for insurance reasons - an owner's insurance will explicitly forbid renting out in the same way that you can't rent out a privately owned car - a regular insurance policy will not cover rental.

    but if its done without the insurance knowing your renting just using it?

    Why would anyone rent you their boat in violation of the terms of their insurance? Asking for legal trouble if an accident happens.

    Who would give a boat to someone who would suggest such a thing?
    Going out on a river is a dangerous pursuit. Giving a boat to a stranger without adequate insurance is grossly irresponsible. Nobody in their right mind would do it.

    Yeah they're mad expensive during the summer. If you wait until August and split the costs between the four people you might be only looking at €175 - €200 per person
