Berthoud sprayer problem. It will not pressurise. Filters are all clear. Main pipe from tank is clear but it won't pressurise or suck at the filling hose. Any experts on the forum. It's a berthoud 160 pump off a '96 racer. Worked fine all morning then nothing.

its there some sort of and on/off tape on top of the filter, from memory as it caught me out once and I presumed the pump was snookered

Has the pump run dry ie. lost its prime, can be a job getting it primed again if realy run dry youd need to put 2 or 300l in with a hose to get it to suck again

took the whole shagging apart. the foot valve collapsed at the end of the suction pipe and it pulled the valve up and it got wedged in the wrong side of the main valve. caused great confusion as everything would run freely and then stop. once i had found that and took it out i had to prime the pipe going from the main valve to the pump as there was air there and preventing the pump from suctioning anything. i was just about to crack open the pump for the evening. just to let you know.
