    Hi
    Just wondering the best way to establish the source of gas leakage from campervan, and how to eliminate it.
    Its either the fridge or cooker.
    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks

    Mixup some washing liquid with water and use a paint brush on all joints one at a time, if there is a leak you will see bubbles.

    Move the camper and see if you still smell it with same setup.
    They say never use a naked flame but I do provided i can reach the regulator and I have a mate who can reach the master valve... :eek:

    {EDIT: ...after disconnecting and removing the gas cylinder and ventilating the camper for a day. Fill the top of the cylinder valve with water and check for bubbles with the regulator disconnected. Obviously you need to reconnect the cylinder for this method but you've eliminated the risk of built up gas pockets and a valveless leak...neither here nor there though because don't try this at home kids! :D [waiver], If it's a regulator with a risk that the switch valve is gone then also only "recommended" with a pop-off type regulator}

    {EDIT #2 Probably best test the regulator outdoors just by running a flexible hose from it into submerged water too come to think of it. It should automatically cut out with switch open and unpressurised}

    Stupid question but is the bottle upright?

    Yes - bottle is upright - and at the opposite side to the Stove and Fridge.
    I'll try the Washing up liquid trick later
    Thank you

    Check all flexible rubber gas hoses if you have any. They should be renewed once they start to crack.

    Hi
    Aidan
    Thanks.
    What a pity - I passed your way on Monday.
    I'm based near Waterford and not sure when I'll get back your direction.

    I'll keep it in mind though.
    Thank you

    Hi again
    I changed the Gas Bottle recently and there's no gas smell anymore so I guess it was a faulty valve or that the top wasn't on properly.

    Thank you again

    Could have been a perished rubber o-ring outside the valve too.
