    Hi,

Does anyone know when students are informed whether or not they have been awarded either of the above? I know a student from a previous year had found out by now but I don't know what is standard so I can't decide whether or not to be devastated yet...

    Thanks!

School nominations for Ussher Fellowships took place about a month ago so I assume the announcements will be made this month.

Actually, people should be receiving notification more or less now.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'd heard somewhere that they left it until after IRC notifications, but that seems like a cruel amount of potential disappointment for one month! Do you have any idea how they inform people, like is it the department or the school? I can't figure out what the etiquette is, is it the done thing to contact my department or wait etc.... Thanks for any advice! :)

I got a phone call to my mobile. I got a PGS, not a UF, although apparently I was nominated - nice to be thought of. Best of luck.

I emailed the graduate studies office at the beginning of May about this and got back '...Decisions regarding PhD studentships will be announced by the end of July...'

From that I can only gather that people probably don't find out all at once, might depend on your department.

Thanks! Hope you're right. Wish Trinity could be a bit more straightforward about these things (ha!).

The PGS is decided by Schools, I believe. UF is a Faculty decision made between School nominees. The Ussher candidate(s) for the Humanities has/have appears to have been chosen. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd already been informed semi-formally. The letters have yet to be sent though.

    Good luck to everyone anyway.
