Ordered a Social Welfare Statement a week ago as I need one for my grant but have yet to get anything yet. Has anyone ordered one and how long should it take as I am coming close to my documents deadline?

    Thanks

Hey, did you receieve the letter from Susi requesting the documentation?

I received mine today and it didn't request a statement from the social welfare.

Both myself and my dad get social welfare payments and neither were requested in the letter. I assume it would be the same for any candidate as I can't see why they would ask for yours and not ask for mine etc.

I read that in an attempt to not have the same situation as last year SUSI were requesting a smaller amount of documents. Maybe they just linked in with the social welfare and will receive that information electronically. I don't know.

I have requested a couple of social welfare statements before and there has been differing times. Sometimes a day or two and then others a few weeks.

    Hi Haywire1989 and MarkyMark22,

This year SuSi have links to the Welfare office. You will not need to supply a Social Welfare statement. If the document is requested on your checklist then you can ignore that request.

This is to help speed up the turn around time and to make the grant application process and smoother and quicker experience.

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards,

Hi aoife , sorry to bother you , but I'm filling out online application with susi Nd in stuck on the social welfare part. It asks for payment type , how many weeks and amount per week. Do I need to order a statement from welfare office for this or is there any other way to get this info. I can't submit the application online until I've filled in this info. Also I received 2 different types of payment in 2013, so not sure how to deal with this in the application . Thanks for your help...

Think I'm in the same boat as you! mum got one parent family payment up until August 2013 then it changed to jobseekers when I turned 17. I went up to the social welfare office in town and asked them for a statement and it told me the two payments and how many weeks I got it for. I think thats all SUSI wwant to know. They don't need to see the statement, not for the first part anyway, I haven't heard back yet :( Just name the two different payments and then the number of weeks you recieved them for .. :) and I think they ask how much you got too, not too sure
